The Opportunity

Maricopa County Education Service Agency (MCESA), in partnership with the Arizona SciTech Festival, is connecting college students with middle school classrooms in districts throughout Maricopa County. Undergraduate and graduate students from ASU are presenting their current STEM research and innovations and connecting it with issues of relevance to middle school-aged students. Presenters are actively engaging students in discussion around STEM content, career opportunities and the importance of taking higher level math and science classes in high school The opportunity to bring current research and innovation into the classroom and connect their students with an authentic STEM experience defines this initiative.
